Aldi Lacura Healthy Glow Retinol & Acacia Collagen Serum

Today I am back with another product from the Aldi Lacura skincare range. I was kindly sent the Aldi Lacura Healthy Glow Retinol & Acacia Collagen Serum which costs just £3.99. As a huge fan of serums, I was looking forward to seeing what difference, if any it made to my skin.

When I shared this serum on my Instagram stories when it arrived, I had people ask if it was a dupe of the Pixi Collagen and Retinol Serum and whilst there are some similarities, I actually wouldn’t call this a dupe. It is completely different in texture, the scent, how it feels on the skin and how the pipette dropper works.

This Serum contains camomile, retinol and acacia collagen and all three ingredients are wonderful for the skin:
  • Acacia Collagen works to plump as well as to boost elasticity
  • Retinol is there to help smooth & refine
  • Chamomile is included and it is known for its ability to calm and sooth the skin
On the skin, this is a really lightweight transparent serum which isn’t too thick but it also doesn’t have the watery consistency I was expecting it to have, it is somewhere in the middle of the two.

To use, you only need 2-3 drops and impressively the pipette dropper is really well made and works perfectly with this serum. One of the annoying issues with some higher end brands is that the pipette droppers don’t work as well as they should because the formulas are too thick. Once you have those 2-3 drops on your hand, simply warm the formula using your skins own temperature and apply to yourself face using light pressing movements rather than rubbing. The other option is to add 1-2 drops into your moisturiser if you find that much easier - I often switch between the two methods of application depending on how much time I have to spare.

There is no real scent to describe for this serum, it definitely does make a difference to hydrating the skin. As it is an Aldi brand, it is cruelty-free and suitable for all skin types. A product that if you come across it, it needs to go into your basket to be tried because it’s price point is too good to miss!
