The January You Beauty Discovery Box has arrived and it has had a bit of a makeover. No longer called You Beauty Discovery, it is instead called You Beauty Box. I am hoping the changes to come are not too drastic because I like this box the way it was, but we'll see. It currently costs just £6.95 per month and that includes postage and packaging.
Anyway with the makeover, there is no enclosed magazine but the shortlist for January is dedicated to recovering from festive over-indulgence, resuming a best-practice skincare regime and rejuvenating our make-up bag. Everything on the list has been carefully selected with renewal in mind.
As always there are two treats within this box. The first is a sachet of snail gel which is always welcome. I am a huge fan of snail gel and my skin also loves it. The second item is a packet of Perfection Gel Cushions which promise instant relief and comfort for the ball of the foot. I am not too sure I will be needing these in January, they are definitely a more December party time need for me.
My two choices this month are a make up item and a skincare item. There was a great choice to choose from and in the end this is what I chose:
ModelCo. Shine Ultra Lip Gloss - I am not usually a fan of Lipglosses, they are never an item I choose, I never buy them and I never want them. I was drawn to this one within the selection because it is marketed as being non-sticky and for me one thing I dislike about Lipglosses is the sticky feeling. Add to that, this one is pink and it has a mirror, it is quirky enough for me to want to try it.
My second choice was from Bee Good, now I love this brand and I love this 2-in-1 Honey & Propolis Cleanser whch I have already featured on my blog here. Bee Good are a British brand and one that should be championed much more than they currently are. The Cleanser is gentle and effective, it smells amazing and it comes with its own muslin cloth, which is a huge plus point for me. If you have never tried a Bee Good product before, then I definitely think you should.
So there you have my January Box. I think it is a great box and I liked the choices I had to choose from. I am now looking forward with interest to the changes that are being made!
oh my gosh. The snail gel looks so weird! I'd love some gel cushions they could come in really useful!
ReplyDeleteI have never used snail gel but have heard it's brilliant. I really should give it a go. x
ReplyDeleteI think £6.95 for a monthly box including postage and packaging is an absolute bargain! I have never heard of or tried snail gel before, would you recommend it? Loving the colour of that lipgloss, perfect shade for Valentine's Day! xxx
ReplyDelete£6.95 is a brilliant price! But never mind that, I have a question - I have snail gel here, a big tube and for some reason I'm just a little freaked about putting it on my face. Do you recommend it? How do I get over the, "It's snail goo" feeling?
ReplyDeleteI've never tried the You Beauty Box before but for £6.95 you get a great selection of products - thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteLooks neat! Love the color of that lipgloss and the gel cushion is just necessary esp when you wear heels!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a beauty box for ages - this one look pretty good x

Wow! I've never heard of snail gel! Sounds intriguing. The whole box looks great, and such a good price too
ReplyDeleteThe products look great. I always used to use the gel pads for when I wore heels when I used to go out! x
ReplyDeleteThe gel cushions seem a bit misplaced. I agree with you, they would have been better in the December box. These boxes are great value though.
ReplyDeleteI have NEVER even heard of snail gel! Going to have a research now. I love the Bee Good range too, but I echo your feelings on lipglosses - they always feel gross to me!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a pretty decent box! That Snail Gel sounds interesting!

What IS snail gel?! I'd never heard of it. Bee Good looks like a great brand - I always like to stick to more natural products, so this looks worth a go.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of this beauty box before, the price is so affordable. I have tried model co's lipgloss and I loved it.
ReplyDeleteSnail Gel? I am not sure how I feel about that lol but I am always looking to give things a shot. What are its benefiting properties would you say?
ReplyDeleteI think these boxes look fab for the price and Snail Gel!? Looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteI really like the You beauty boxes and have ordered them before. They always have something slightly unusual in them like the Snail Gel and like you I hope they do not increase the price.
ReplyDeleteI would like to try the Bee Good cleanser. It looks lovely and gentle. The snail get sounds intriguing I must admit.
ReplyDeleteWe love BeeGood products and actually have a gift box to review in the next couple of weeks! They are local to us! Love this beauty box haul. Some great and useful products in the box!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, and what a bargain price, I can't get over it! I love the look of the Lip gloss. The snail gel sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing such good things about snail gel, I really must check it out. Seems like a great value box :) x
ReplyDeleteI love subscription boxes but have only really tried the foodie type ones. The beauty ones look awesome
ReplyDeleteIt must be nice to have subscriptions through the door. I prefer lipglosses to lipstick but they are a bit messy
ReplyDeleteI've not heard about snail gel before - sounds interesting. Very good price for this box too.
ReplyDeleteThis subscription box sounds like a nice idea. I was particularly interested in the non-sticky lipgloss. I'm terrible with lipgloss it always ends up in my hair.x
ReplyDeleteOK what is snail gel and I need to get these boxes
ReplyDeleteThose gel cushions look incredibly handy! Looks like a great little box :)
ReplyDeleteThe gel cushion for shoes is very handy to have. I still haven't tried any snail products.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great box, I really like the Dr Organic Snail Gel, and I've recently started using the Bee Good Cleanser and love that, too. I have to agree the gel heel things are more of a party season item, though...

A beauty box for under £7! That is definitely worth a try. Never heard of snail gel - definitely sounds interesting
ReplyDeleteI am glad I wasn't the only one going "Snail Gel"?? What do you do with it? Looks like a bargain getting so many items for the price.
ReplyDeletei dont think i fancy snail gel, having them in the fish tank and watching them eat the junk at the bottems put me off for life!
ReplyDeleteOff to look up snail gel, I've never heard of that before. Love the look of this box x
ReplyDeleteLoving the look of the box. Great items.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of snail gel before! Maybe something to surprise my wife with for our anniversary.
ReplyDeleteLoving the lip gloss. I do like my pinks and sparkles and this looks fab.
ReplyDeleteSnail Gel. Blergh. I'm not a fan of prescription boxes. One particular well known one tends to rip off their Irish customers. This one looks really good though. The cream cleanser catches my eye!
ReplyDeletea non sticky lip gloss sounds like a misnomer haha! I'd be intrigued to try that
