I am a huge fan of Colour Correcting products and adore the Makeup Revolution palette, upon which ive just hit pan on green *cries*. I find they work well with my skin to correct and conceal, more so with the redness I have on my cheeks, for which I do need the green. It took me a long time to accept that putting something green on my face would not leave me looking like Grotbags (remember her) and infact it would work.
The idea of using green to correct redness is a blessing as it neutralises redness whether that is blemishes, blochiness and in some cases a broken vein. You simply apply it to the area you want to correct, gently blend, add more if required and then finish off your make-up.

Primark often has some hidden little gems and I was surprised to find they did colour correcting sticks, even better they had been massively reduced, so I bought one of each and this is what they look like - notice the similarity?
Yes, to me, they are the exact same colour corrector stick that is sold by MaxFactor, only the Primark versions are a whole £8.50 cheaper, should they work! The swatches show the Primark crayon at the top and MaxFactor at the bottom, even colour wise they are similar, the only real difference is the formula and for me, the Primark crayon is much softer, though both blend like an absolute dream.
Do they work? Yes, I find it hard to choose who wins between them, both do an amazing job at concealing the redness but given the difference in price, then I would opt for Primark every time, purely to save £8.50.

I've never tried using a green concealer but I've heard such great things about them! Might have to start with one of these!

How great to find a more affordable alternative :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a good dupe, i have the Max Factor one too. I remember a couple of years ago Primark used to do a different range of makeup that looked exactly like Benefit x
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have thought of Primark for this sort of thing. Must look out for this next time I'm in.
ReplyDeletewow thats interesting. It's amazing how some items can be so much cheaper in different stores and do the same job. I think some companies much have a massive profit and mark up! Angela x
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a big price difference. It's amazing what Primark has!
ReplyDeleteOooh lovely, it's always good to find a dupe, and that's a decent saving! I really can't tell the difference between these in your photos :)

I never even think to look in Primark for make-up , they really do look similar and so much cheaper xx
ReplyDeleteAh fantastic - love a good dupe, will definitely look out for these!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Great bargain. It's odd how they are exactly the same but so expensive with the 'popular brand'
ReplyDeleteWow with a difference of £8.50, I'm definitely opting for the Primark version!!!
ReplyDeleteBlimey Oh Riley! I can't believe how much they've ripped off the packaging! Amazing that it works just as well though — what a fantastic find! And a great review too — thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteAmazing! thanks so much for sharing this I am off to get one asap. Do they have one that will correct dark circles too?
ReplyDeleteYou've made a great find! It's a real bargain. Fab!
ReplyDeleteThe swatches look exactly the same! That's a massive saving though! x
ReplyDeleteIf you want my opinion, I wouldn't be surprised if they're both from the same factory. The similarities are quite numerous!
ReplyDeleteVery good article anyway as I didn't know any of the two products and I love skin tone correction products.

Wow that is fantastic! I need to start using a colour corrector. What would you recommend to correct green areas?
ReplyDeleteI have never considered Primark for make up and beauty products. I have redness and so should check this out.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good when you find something that works at a good price. You are right, there doesn't look to be much difference between the primark and max factor one, except the price of course.
ReplyDeleteI did not even notice that Primark do make up. Its good to know.
ReplyDeleteyey! I love seeing a Primark win! I love their make up.
ReplyDeleteThe idea of a green concealer is new to me, primark 1 mac 0 lol awesome
ReplyDeleteOnly heard of a green concealer now, but based on your post it looks effective! The prcie is reasonable too! Great post x
ReplyDeleteI still find the idea of using bright colours to counteract other colours so amusing, but if it works then it must be worth it! I should probably give it a go. I love when you can find cheaper gems that work just as well as the branded stuff! Stephanie x
ReplyDeleteI never knew Primark did these, definitely going to go and pick them all up as I love a good colour corrector! X

Ive never thought about using a green concealer to corrected redness, Ive heard of the maxfactor stick but as im not massive on beauty i didnt really consider it, as the primark one is pretty similar and so much cheaper it might be worth giving it a go!

ReplyDeleteNice to see the cheaper brand come out on top - and we all need a little help with red cheeks in this cold!
ReplyDeleteWow, good spot, they do look really similar!
ReplyDeletefantastic to know I will sure be buying the Primark one from now on
ReplyDeleteThese both sound fantastic and it's great that Primark does such a good dupe!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried any colour corrector sticks before, I wouldn't even know where to start haha
ReplyDeleteOh green is quite a revealing colour. I wouldn't have a clue where to use it lol
ReplyDeleteI don't mind brands create dupes for products, especially if the products are high-end and therefore come with a pretty hefty price tag, but it does annoy me when they just straight up copy the packaging. They could at least choose a different font or more the writing around a little! x
