YSL Beauty Advent Calendar 2021

This years YSL Beauty Advent Calendar is every bit as stunning as expected and any fan of the brand will be wanting to add this to their list.  I am a huge fan of YSL when it comes to their lipsticks and have been for as long as I can remember, but they also have some pretty amazing skincare too, which I have been lucky enough to try.

Avon Anew Serum Lip Treatment

Now the colder months are almost upon us, this is the time of the year when I take much more care of my lips, though I am a balm addict and go through a lot of pots, tubes and sticks throughout the entire year and the most recent addition to my collection comes from Avon with the Anew Serum Lip Treatment.

Originally given to me by a close friend, but I have since been lucky enough to be sent from the brand, the Serum Lip Treatment, which is from the Anew collection is designed to keep the lips hydrated, smooth and moisturised. The Anew collection from Avon is described as being a set of products which sit in the anti-ageing category with a purpose.  

Nestled inside a sleek silver case, the Avon Anew Serum Lip Treatment has a clear, transparent formula which is infused with what is referred to as being 72-hour hydro power which is said to be a 7x more hydrating glycerine and it essentially works to keep your lips hydrated even after removal or reapplication.  If you suffer from dry or chapped lips, this serum treatment is incredibly soothing and it also makes for a great base before applying lipstick, as I recently found.  

On the lips, what I like about this serum is that although it is designed to be super hydrating and moisturising, it isn't greasy or slimy in any way, it isn't stick or tacky and the formula has a velvety feel to it. I have found that it absorbs fairly rapidly when applied and as mentioned, makes a great base for applying lipstick because it prevents it from clinging to any drier areas.

Selfridges Advent Calendar 2021 Revealed

Moving away from the traditional Selfridges yellow theme, this year we have an Advent Calendar for 2021 looking splendid in a lilac shade.

Opening out to reveal 25 drawers with hidden beauty products inside, the contents are said to be worth a massive £700 and with that you will find some of the best-selling makeup, skincare and other beauty must-haves. Expect to find brands such as Dr Barbara Sturm, Charlotte Tilbury, Le Labo and more.
