Homewares and Textiles - Shopping I didn't expect to enjoy

If I have learnt one thing during this pandemic, it is that I do not enjoy decorating. I don't mind the moving of furniture, cleaning, wiping and packing up of any object(s) that might be in the way, but the rest of it I find too stressful.
Over the last 5 weeks, the mister and I have renovated our lounge, it is one of those jobs that has been on the to-do list forever and now it is 99% done. All that we have left to do is agree on a new sofa, have the carpet fitted because we have decided against fixing the parquet flooring underneath.

What I have enjoyed doing during this renovation is homeware shopping. Not something I ever thought I would admit too. I am as happy as a pig in the proverbial when it comes to beauty shopping and I can find myself lost for hours in any beauty hall in the West End, but the thought of wandering round homeware stores was not something I had on my agenda.
Homewares and Textiles - Things I didn't expect to enjoy
So having been to Dunelm to get a rug, which I happen to absolutely love, plus Ikea to get some Kallax additions for our new unit, to find they are out of stock, we did come across a site called Amy's Deco which has the most brilliant wall clocks.

What we loved about this site was the chance to essentially create a clock which fits with the colour scheme and there are so many options to choose from.
Homewares and Textiles - Shopping I didn't expect to enjoy
The Alpha Clock is priced at £89, though there is currently an offer to save 20% and they come in all different shapes and sizes. Made of glossy plexiglass, each individual piece is approximately 3mm thick and when it arrives, which thankfully it does with a stencil, the pieces are really well made and protected with sticker coverings to prevent scratching.  If you are looking for a new clock and want something a little bit different and out of the ordinary, this one ticks a whole lot of boxes.

So now the clock is up, as well as finding a sofa, all we have left is a few final jobs which involve changing the light fittings because they no longer fit with the aesthetic and re-affixing the wall art.

Molton Brown Advent Calendar 2020

I adore Molton Brown as a brand and we pretty much have every available Bath & Shower Gel in our bathroom, so when I saw the contents of the 2020 Advent Calendar, it features a few of the scents we haven't yet added and served as a reminder to put them on my list, the next time we do the Pick & Mix option, which by the way is amazing!
Molton Brown Advent Calendar 2020
For 2020, Molton Brown have chosen to go with a very luxe Black and Silver design, think 1920’s makeup, like the cases your Great Grandma, if like mine had her lipsticks in.  I much this prefer this years design to the 2019 Calendar which took on a more rustic Black and Bronze design.
"Inspired by the liberating glamour of the Roaring Twenties, this elegant calendar shimmers with holographic foil to evoke a 1920s chandelier. With a striking new design, it’s secured by a hidden magnet and opens from the side to reveal your 24 stellar indulgences".
Again, as with last year, the calendar features Lotions, Oils, Gels, a candle, a lip product and Festive Baubles!

If you don't want to see the contents list, then scroll away now as they are listed below. This calendar is available to buy now and it is priced at £175.

Contents:
  • Delicious Rhubarb & Rose Mini Candle 30g
  • Volumising Shampoo with Kumudu 50ml
  • Volumising Conditioner with Kumudu 50ml
  • Fiery Pink Pepper Hand Cream 40ml
  • Jasmine & Sun Rose Bath & Shower Gel 50ml
  • Anti-fatigue Bai Ji Eye Gel 15ml
  • Heavenly Gingerlily Caressing Body Oil 45ml
  • Fiery Pink pepper Festive Bauble 75ml
  • Re-charge Black Pepper Eau de Toilette 7.5ml
  • Vintage with Elderflower Festive Bauble 75ml
  • Vintage with Elderflower Body Lotion 50ml
  • Jasmine & Sun Rose Exquisite Bathing Oil 45ml
  • Juniper Jazz Eau De Toilette 7.5ml
  • Delicious Rhubarb & Rose Hand Cream 40ml
  • Tobacco Absolute Mini Candle 30g
  • Coastal Cypress & Sea Fennel Fine Liquid Hand Wash 50ml
  • Geranium Nefertum Bath & Shower Gel 50ml
