Wake Skincare for the Generation Connected

Wake Skincare is described as being a Start-up business on a mission, to create products designed for 'generation connected'. A brand born out of the frustrations of being glued to screens, working long hours and always being switched on. The brains behind the brand, Anton and Alex decided, after some research to create a brand, to take on those big cosmetics companies and give them a run for their money. I was very kindly sent two products from the collection to try.

With both the face cream and the eye cream, the first thing to stand out is the amazing packaging, it certainly grabs your attention.

The Wake Face Cream is a really lightweight cream which doesn't feel heavy when applied. It contains a blend of pure essential oils, natural plant botanicals and natural antioxidants to help give skin a radiant appearance. 

Alongside Shea Butter and Coco Butter you will find ingredients such as Vitamin E which works to reduce blemishes and helps acne. Then we have Hyaluronic Acid which deeply plumps the skin and helps to minimise fine lines and wrinkles whilst at the same time delivering increased hydration. The Face Cream also has anti-ageing properties with Hydrolysed Collagen.

Then we have the Wake Eye Cream, a product which certainly grabbed itself a whole lot of media attention and it isn't hard to see why when you use it. Within just two years, the Wake Eye Gel has received over 2,000 reviews on Amazon. It has consistently been No.1 in the Eye Gel category and even reached No.1 in the whole of Beauty for Amazon UK.

As with the face cream, the Wake Eye Gel is really lightweight on the skin and rich in antioxidants. The gel formula works to help reduce the appearance of fine lines as well as dark circles and puffiness. Alongside Aloe Vera you will find ingredients such as Cucumber and Elderflower which instantly awaken and soothe puffy eyes. Vitamin E is a strong antioxidant to help the delicate skin around the eyes.

Roccabox - Under the Sea

I love waiting to find out what theme Roccabox are going to choose for their monthly subscription box, last month we had Summer in a box, this month the theme is 'Under The Sea' and yes whilst the first thing that springs to my mind is The Little Mermaid, this one is themed slightly differently.

The Under the Sea Edit features 6 full sized products and inside this pink box you will find a mixture of makeup and skincare plus a little something extra.

First out of the box is this months Hero Product which comes from INC.credible with the You Glow Girl Pigment Pot (£8). Described as being a multi-tasking shimmery makeup product, this glow dust is designed to be used on your eyes, lips and cheeks and it can be applied using your finger and a makeup brush. 

In the boxes you will either find Have I got your attention or Ready to be famous.  I have the first one which is best described as being a golden bronze shade and it definitely is packed full of pigment.

The second product from the box comes from Dr Botanicals with the Seaweed Bio-Repair Treatment Mask (£44) and this one sounds amazing. 

Enriched with Japanese Wakame Seaweed, green and brown algae extracts and Shea Butter this treatment mask works to hydrate, nourish and restore the look of your skin.  This mask only needs 10 minutes of your day to work its magic and it smells pretty damn good too!

From SportFX is the Game Changing Mascara (£9.99) and it is described as being a 2-In-1 ground breaking Waterproof Mascara ensures your lashes last all day, through sweat, swim or sun but that is not all it does!

This is unlike any mascara I have ever owned or used! The ultra-black pigment is applied using a thin bristled brush, which oddly I quite like and it applies without clumping or smudging! The clever part comes with the removal - As it is a waterproof mascara, we all know they can be a nightmare to remove, well on the opposite end of the wand you will find 'The Miracle Remover' which you apply to your lashes as you usually would do a mascara only this one helps to loosen the pigment to make it easy to remove - genius and it works!

Next we have some Pore Strips by May Beauty (£7) and this is a brand I had not come across until now. The joy of beauty boxes is finding brands you might never have heard of or indeed come across until they appear in your box.

Designed to gently cleanse the nose of all impurities, these strips contain charcoal powder and witch hazel and to be honest, I find products like this deeply satisfying to remove!

The Final skincare product comes from MonuSkin with the Soothing Hawaii Facial Oil (£23.95) and as soon as I removed the lid from the bottle, I knew I was going to really like it, it smells absolutely incredible and fresh. 

Described as being a gentle oil, it is one that should be used when you are really wanting to relax and wind down. Using a combination of sandalwood oil , grapeseed oil and Lavender oil, together they work to balance your skin and regenerate the complexion. Should be used after cleansing and applied using your finger tips, I like to inhale deeply, taking in the relaxing scent before applying to my skin, it smells that good!

Finally we have a brand I really like and one who has featured on my social media - BumbleZest.  Inside this box we have the Ginger/CBD/Tumeric Sparkling Water.  Said to be full of goodness it is refreshing and relaxing all in one!

I really like this months Roccabox it has featured a few products I have never used or come across before. Priced at just £10 per month if bought separately, Roccabox is a subscription service and there are further subscription offers available to choose from here.

IT Cosmetics Supersize CC+ Cream - QVC Beauty Pick of The Month

I am a huge fan of the iT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Oil-Free Matte, which I featured on my blog a few months ago, until then, I had never used a product from the brand as I really wanted to be colour-matched. Now, I have been kindly sent the CC+ Cream, but supersized and if you are fan, you need to read on to get your hands on it.

For the entire month of August on QVC, you will find this supersize IT Cosmetics CC+ cream which contains a huge 75ml of product and it costs just £10 more than the normal size which is 32ml! Priced at £42.96 including free postage!

In a few months time, I am going to do a post comparing this CC+ Creme to the Oil-Free Matte Version to see if I prefer one over the other, but in the meantime, LauraLouMakeup has done a comparison of all three on her blog which is worthy of a read!

This CC+ Cream is described as being:

This cream will be available on QVC whilst stocks last and they have 12 different shades to choose from. I opted to stick with Fair Light as it is the one I had been matched to originally and it definitely does have that full-coverage but without being heavy on the skin.

The swatch above it completely unedited, it is as it comes our of the tube and it is pretty much the best match for my skin, though I can also use Fair.

• Rich: tan to rich skin with warm (yellow) undertones
• Rich Honey: deep skin with warm (yellow) undertones
• Deep: deep skin with neutral undertones
