Scentaddict by The Fragrance Shop

If, like me you are a huge fan of fragrances and have a never ending list of perfumes you want to try, but are not sure they will suit you, The Fragrance Shop have a brand new subscription service that might just tickle your fancy.
Scentaddict-The-Fragrance-Shop
Scentaddict is a service which is aimed at offering you, the consumer, a chance to try new and classic fragrances with no commitment for just £12 a month and that includes postage and packaging. Scentaddict was developed as a result of customer feedback and taking into account that 55% of consumers tend to change their fragrance daily and adding the success of other subscription services such as Netflix, and Beauty Boxes, Scentaddict was born and I can see it being quite the service.  As I said, I have a list as long as my arm of fragrances, new and old, that I really want to try - J'adore Chanel No.5, Tom Ford Velvet Orchid and the list goes on.  I am not the kind of person who walks into a department store and tries a perfume and then buys it. I like to see how it reacts to my skin for a good few hours before I decide whether or not it is something I want.

The Fragrance Shop has over 200 fragrances to be tired and tested and this for me, is a bit of fun but also an affordable solution for working my way through my fragrance wishlist.  So how does it work? Firstly you need to go along to Scentaddict and follow the on screen steps. You can add up to 12 of your most wanted scents to your account and then set up your account as well as your subscription, which is £12 per month. You can stick with the same scent for those 12 months, or add it for a few more months later in the year to see how it works with seasonal change for example and you can change any of your selections up to 48 hours before dispatch.

Once you have made your selection a team of experts will carefully fill your luxury reusable 8ml travel sized scentaddict atomiser, from which you get approximately 100 sprays, before packaging it up and sending it off to you, you only get one atomiser for your first month, the following months you will be sent an 8ml refill to put into your atomiser.  If that isn't enough to tempt you, each month you will also be sent a voucher for £12 to use against the price of a full sized bottle of the fragrance you have just been using.  You can cancel your membership at any time you feel the need too and there is no minimum contract.

That is all there is to it.  I think it is a great idea and I am slightly shocked that no one else has thought of doing this before now. I would love to know what you think to this service and whether or not you feel that this is a service you would be interested in trying?.

Lee Stafford Hairbrushes

The last time I used a Lee Stafford product was when I had an obsession with using Poker Straight whilst straightening my hair with my GHDs.  Lee Stafford is an award winning hairdresser who has quite an impressive CV and a career to show how amazing he is.  Not only does he have an incredible passion for hairstyling, he is also one of the nicest people I have ever met.

Today I have some of the new Lee Stafford Hair Brushes to share with you and I have been using them over the past few weeks to see whether or not they are any good before giving my verdict.  I am quite picky when it comes to using a hair brush and I have a list of things that I like and things that I absolutely hate.
Lee Stafford HairBrushes
Firstly, these hair brushes are bright pink and anything pink is going to grab my attention, in fact they are so bright that you won't miss them on the shelves in Boots!  Within my bright pink Lee Stafford box, I actually have 5 hair tools and each one of them has a role and they can be used together to create that perfect hair do!

The Big n Bouncy is described as being the brush which is perfect for creating Bigger, Fatter, Fuller Hair! It has ceramic technology and a heat retaining barrel which gives you instantly plumper, fuller and glossier locks!

It also has a soft grip handle and the bristles are really flexible which means working with the brush and keeping hold of it is really easy when styling.  I like that the bristles don't scratch my scalp when I use it and it is great to use when blow drying your hair too.  This brush retails for £11.99.

Comb It Out is one of two combs within the collection and having thought I would never use one, I probably use this more than I thought I would.

Designed for teasing out your curls, it uses ceramic technology to help fight frizz, so if you have just curled your hair and want to brush them out slightly, this comb is perfect for doing just that. I also use this comb whenever I apply a hair mask because it glides through my hair without snagging or pulling and the grove at the top makes it easy to hold on to. Priced at £5.99 it is an absolute bargain.

Tangle Terminator is the brush which made me cackle and something I really could have done with when I was much younger than I am now, because my hair was always a mass of knots.  Nowadays, my hair is much easier to handle and though I do get the occasional tangle, I have never had to sit and spend hours brushing or combing them out of my hair with a grimace on my face.

Described as being the brush to give your hair some TLC, Lee Stafford champions this as being his favourite brush.  It uses patented swinging plates that move with your hair and in doing so it glides easily into action, detangling knots and leaving hair beautifully smooth without the damage.  If anyone has knotty hair, this is definitely the brush for you and it costs just £12.99.

The Back Comber is the one I use the least because I don't tend to ever backbomb my hair. It is described as being the comb which will give you va va volume and lift.

For me, I use this when sectioning my hair to straighten it, it has a lovely long pointed handle which is perfect for sectioning and then the comb itself, I use to brush through my hair before I glide the GHDs through and it works better than using a brush, I also end up with less static too.  Priced at £5.49.

The Baby Paddle is one of those great all rounder brushes which does a bit of everything and does it well. Small enough to fit into your hand bag or hand luggage this brush is designed to soften and smooth hair and like the other brushes, its ceramic technology helps combats frizz any time anywhere!

The soft grip handle makes the brush easy to hold and use and allows you to grip onto it tightly when brushes your hair.  This brush is priced at £9.99.

Alongside these five brushes that I have shared with you today, there are more within the range and they include:
  • The Daddy Paddle Brush
  • The Big Shower Comb
  • The Big Smoothing Brush
I have to admit, I am really impressed with these brushes and have said why for each one. I have given them a thorough testing and in my opinion you can never have too many good hairbrushes.  I know when I clean mine (yes I do this regularly) I always need to ensure I have a spare brush to hand.

Have you ever tried anything from the Lee Stafford range and is there anything you would recommend that I need to try?

Bardou Hair Care

The Bardou is a luxury beauty company who not only specialise in hair care and cosmetics but they have the most incredible salon in London's West End which offers blow dries, updos and even makeup application and it is well worthy of booking in for a bit of pampering before that big event. Not all of us do have time to get to a salon and the ethos behind Bardou is that they believe that anybody can have great hair if they have the right tools and using that thought, BARDOU created an at-home haircare range to ensure everybody can achieve the perfect blow-out, hair-do and hairstyle.
Bardou Hair Care
I have recently been using two products from their own hair care range which I was kindly sent and if you want luxury in your hair care, then Bardou do just this from their packaging to the actual product.

The Immaculate Spray Dry Shampoo is described as being a dry shampoo was born of the desire to provide women with a high-quality hair product that offers instant results. It will refresh your hair within minutes, offering you a fabulous look while, at the same time, nourishing every single hair strand due to its innovative formula enriched with natural keratin.
Bardou Hair Care
This Dry Shampoo smells incredible and it doesn't leave those horrid white traces in your hair or on your clothes.  I have combination hair which essentially means greasy roots and dry ends and certain times of the month can exacerbate the situation leaving my hair feeling so greasy I literally want to wash it twice a day.  We all know that doing so would be a bad idea, so instead, when the need arises, I grab my dry shampoo.  For me, having hair that looks and feels freshly washed is important and this dry shampoo does that but there is something a little special about it, not only does it not irritate my scalp it also helps give volume to my roots and it feels really lightweight.

Priced at £15 for 200ml.

The second product is the Finishing Mist and this is a product I never thought I would get much use out of until I used it.  Described as being the Finishing Mist which will answer all your styling needs, providing long-lasting medium-hold, offering flexibility and repairing damaged hair so that you can fully enjoy the benefits of a high-quality finishing mist without any disadvantage.
Bardou Hair Care
I have in my time used quite a few finishing mists which are designed to hold your 'do' in place and admittedly I prefer them to an actual can of hairspray.  This one again comes with an incredible scent and rather than dry hard on to your hair and leave that horrid chemical smell, it not only holds your hair in place and allows free movement, it keeps the frizz at bay and also adds shine.  When it comes to brushing your hair at any time, there is no white residue, it isn't in any way sticky or tacky and it doesn't leave my hair feeling dry or dehydrated.

Priced at £12 for 200ml.

The Mist and the Dry Shampoo are incredible products and both are enriched with natural Keratin so they care for your hair whilst styling it. As well as being SLS and cruelty-free, the products are made right here in the UK and there are quite a few more products within the collection that I am eager to try.

Have you tried anything from The Bardou range?

Eylure x Fleur De Force Brow Define

The collaborations between Fleur De Force and Eylure have resulted in some stunning products that I have been lucky enough to receive. In December last year there was these stunning lashes and today I have some Brow products.
Eylure x Fluer De Force Brow Define

Brow products currently saturate the market, whether you want something high end or something from the high street, there is pretty much something from every brand in an array of shades, tones and colours.

The Eylure x Fleur De Force Brow Pencils are double ended. I did wrongly assume that one end would be the pencil and the other a spooley, as this is what you would normally get, but Fleur has gone one better with her designs and has instead included two shades on the one pencil with one end being a light option and the other a darker shade and I personally think this is really clever. For anyone who does their brows, you will know that the hairs start off quite light near to the nose and gradually get darker towards the end, not all one shade and unlucky for me, mine are quite sparse in places.  So when doing my own brows, I tend to swap and change between shades to try and make my brows look as natural as possible.

Enriched with coconut oil, these pencils are really slim and have a twist up pencil which is really easy to work with.  Once on the brow, it becomes smudge resistant which is always a plus.

Eylure x Fluer De Force Brow Define
Eylure x Fluer De Force Brow DefineAvailable in three shades – light, medium, dark.  Within each category there are two shade options, most noticeable within the light shade where one side of the pencil is really light and as a friend of mine with ginger hair said, perfect for her finally and the other side slightly darker.  I use the medium options for my brows which is the closest match and I use both sides of the crayon too.

The Eylure Fleur de Force Brow Define pencils are available HERE now for £12 each and at the time of writing this post, they are currently part of a 3 for 2 offer.
