L’Occitane Almond Milky Bath

This is my 4th bottle of the L’Occitane Almond Milky bath having been lucky enough to have been gifted a bottle, I’ve since ordered more! The Almond range from L’Occitane is my absolute favourite range and whether it is the shower oil, hand cream, body lotion or this Milky Bath, it is one which features a lot in this house. Infact, the only products left to try from the range is the hair care and the scrub!

Housed in a 500ml silver bottle, two teaspoon sized drops or two capfuls into your running bath water is all you need to take in that most wonderful of scents. On contact with the water, it transforms into a milky veil almost instantly.

Almonds are one of the most commonly used in beauty treatments from the shell and milk to the nut and oil. Packed with antioxidants that help to fight free radicals, it also has a high level of Vitamin E which helps to protect the skin from sun damage and premature ageing.

In products such as this milky bath, the almond oil helps to relieve redness, irritation, inflammation and itching, and as an emollient the skin is left feeling much soother and softer to the touch, all without being greasy. Alongside the almond oil you will find Sunflower oil which is not only rich in antioxidants, it is also packed with vitamins and is both soothing and moisturising for the skin. Then we have Bergamot oil which has an uplifting citrusy scent, perfect for aiding relaxation from stress.

Biovène solid Shampoo and Conditioner Bars

Spanish eco brand Biovène Barcelona launched its all-natural plastic-free Shampoo-In-A Bar range in the UK back in January and I’ve been using them for some time now.

As part of its #replacethebottle campaigns the Biovène Barcelona shampoo and conditioning bars use natural ingredients including essential oils which are gentle enough to be used daily. The shampoo and conditioners  are available in five variant which include:

• Hydrate Repair, 
• Damage Control, 
• Moisture Volume, 
• Clear Protect
• Nourish Restore.

So depending on how you would describe your hair type, there is something that you can use.

I have a shampoo and conditioner bar from two of the ranges which I have been using on my hair. The first is the Hydrate Repair Argan Oil & Mint includes natural argan oil, peppermint, macadamia oil, beeswax and shea butter. Not only has it been designed to recover shine and softness with optimal hydration the blend also works to combat hair loss, maintain a healthy scalp and repair hair damaged by colour and styling.

The conditioner-in-a-bar format replaces the need for a plastic bottle, contains no water, and can last as long as one and a half (1½) bottles of liquid conditioner. 

The shampoo and conditioner bars are both square shaped and to use wet both your hair and the shampoo bar. Slide the bar from root to tip 3-5 times. Putting the bar to one side, lather the shampoo into your hair. With the conditioner, after shampooing, rinse your hair and smooth the bar over your wet hair. Distribute evenly and leave for 1-5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. 

The second collection I have been using is the Nourish Restore shampoo and conditioner and it is perfect for those of us who teeter towards the oilier side of the hair issues. Pink Heaven, as the collection is called, using a blend of beeswax, shea butter, minerals, vanilla and the essential oils of lavender and grapefruit to smooth, soften and restore hair while deeply cleansing and refreshing. It aims to remove build-up and nourish every strand for stronger, healthier hair.

It foams like a liquid shampoo and can be worked on the hair and scalp really easily. That’s something that I missed in other solid shampoos, honestly.
