Living in London, you won't be surprised to find it plays havoc on your skin, anyone who travels regularly on the tube will be all too familiar with black tissues! With that in mind, imagine just how dirty your skin can get and indeed feels after a day travelling round, never mind at least 5 of the 7 days each week! I do as much as I can to ensure my skin is as clean as I can get it and whenever the opportunity arises for a facial, I jump at the chance.
So being given the chance to try the Panasonic Facial Ionic Steamer, I jumped at the chance, it had to be a better method than leaning over a bowl of hot water. As you can see it looks like a simple, easy to use contraption and thankfully it is.
"Panasonic's Nano Facial Steamer helps to remove makeup and dirt, promotes smoother, softer skin and can be used daily as a fuss-free component of your skin care regimen."
Using the water tank that is easy to remove and insert into the steamer, you have two options, half fill it for a 3 minute treatment or fully fill it for a 6 minute treatment and for this I just use normal tap water. Then using Ultra-fine nano-sized particle steam which is 4,000 times finer than normal steam to penetrate the skin and effectively supplement moisture and encourage deep pore cleansing. It is also said that cleansing with the facial ionic steamer will result in the removal of makeup, dirt and excess oil to leave your skin feeling incredibly clean and refreshed.
What I love about this machine is not only how easy it is to use, but how incredibly effective it is. After washing my face with warm water and wiping it dry with a muslin cloth, I set the steamer up ready to go, again, if you have a tight schedule then 3 minutes is perfect timing or if you do have that little bit longer than 6 minutes once a week is even better. So once the water tank has been filled and inserted, steam will begin to appear within about 15 seconds, so it is really quick. To use, you need to ensure that your face is 20cm away from the opening to avoid burning your skin, helpfully there is a measurement tape included to show you how far back you should be. Then with your eyes closed, set a timer (I use my iPhone) for 3-6 minutes and allow the steam to work its magic.
Once that allotted time is up, simply grab two/three cotton wool pads and wipe your face and it is here you will see how much 'stuff' has been removed - honestly it is like the first time you get a Dyson Hoover and despite hoovering your carpet everyday, this thing still manages to find stuff to hoover up! Seriously, these cotton wool pads are just vile, but at least that stuff is no longer sitting on my skin!
Since using this steamer for the last few months, I have been amazed at how effective it is at cleaning my skin and they do say that the cleaner the skin, the easier it is for your products to work like they are supposed to. So not only do I have baby soft skin, I do feel that my skin is being the chance to breathe once the dirt and grime has been removed. I have had less blackheads on my nose, less dry skin on my cheeks and my makeup is lasting much longer on my skin, which is always an added bonus and it is a great way to have a facial at home!
If this sounds like a machine you would like to try, honestly I cannot recommend it highly enough, then you will find it retails for around £99.99 online and is worth every penny.
My first thoughts...it looks like a breast pump....or is that just me? I don't use the tube much but when I do, the difference after one journey is blatantly obvious. Yeeuuch! This sounds great - really effective in just a few minutes. SOLD! On my shopping list. Great post as well. Xx
ReplyDeleteSo good to see the results of using it as I'm always sceptical about these steamers x Looks a great product x
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see your results from using this.
ReplyDeleteI don't live in London, but when I visit I really notice the difference in my skin.
I have a steamer which I mostly use for inhalation to clear sinus infections, but I think I should start using it more! Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteOooh this sounds really good. I have never used one before but it sounds worth the money! x
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a good thing, I really think that I should get one of these as I dread to think what's on my skin x
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many good things about facial steamers. This one looks incredible.

ReplyDeleteOh god I travel to London everyday so imagine what those pads would look like on my skin. I would love one of these if I had the money!
ReplyDeleteWow I need this steamer for sure. Great review.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the amount of yuck that cakes your skin in London. How hot is the steam? If I go near a steam room I look like a beetroot for several days following.
ReplyDeleteInteresting looking product I could do with one of these my skin needs some more tlc
ReplyDeleteWOW! This looks so much better than my usual hot bowl of water and towel method! Love that you can actually see it working on the cotton pads!

I absolutely need one of these, my skin has been a headache lately and a good cleanse like this sounds like a dream!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like something my face needs as it is prone to acne. Is a shame you were not given a discount code to take advantage of.
ReplyDeleteI have never used a steamer before so I was very curious to watch your video. The price is not too bad either
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I can't believe those cotton pads! It's horrific to think that all that would just be left sitting on your skin otherwise... Urgh!!

This is the coolest system. It's crazy how much dirt it can help clean off of your face!
ReplyDeleteIt has been years since I have used a facial steamer but I really want to try this. Look at all the dirt it cleans off!
ReplyDeleteOh wow this looks great. Would be really interested to use it
ReplyDeleteI try to steam my face quite regularly but I Just do it with the good old towel over the head with hot water in the sink! I am definitely going to invest in one of these though because it looks amazing and I'm a sucker for how pretty the pink is xx

London is a nightmare on your skin isn't it. This steamer looks amazing. I think i need it in my life
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really interesting product - I definitely wouldn't mind trying it for myself. x
ReplyDeleteI love getting a facial! Have one booked in a few weeks with all the added extras! I have an okay one at home that I like to use every now and again! I agree how startling the gunk that gets removed is but like you said, rather on cotton wool than clogging your pores.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how much dirt it removed from your skin - I need to try this now! x
ReplyDeleteCotton pads tell no lies! That looks awesome at cleaning skin. I'll pass this info on to the ladies of the house :)
ReplyDeleteWow it seems to do a great job, might need to get one for myself.

ReplyDeleteGlad that you got great results. The price is reasonable for its functions so it might worth to purchase and try. :)
ReplyDeleteThese look brilliant, I saw one when I was a Panasonic Brit Blogger and was really tempted to choose one but at the time I really needed a hairdryer and I'm pleased to say that my Ionic Hairdryer is still going strong and I love it. Panasonic make amazing products.
ReplyDeletereally great review, it looks so good, i'm a big fan of steaming and it really does rid the skin of toxins and dirt so it's on my wishlist!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds interesting! I can't say I have ever seen anything like that. Thanks for the review and tempting me :D

It sounds like an interesting product, I actually had my face steamed today before having a facial and I really enjoyed it.

wow this seems to do miracles! I would definitely give it a try if I had the chance!
ReplyDeleteIt looks absolutely brilliant! I need this little contraption in my life. I know exactly what you mean about travelling on the tube. Black tissues every single time! I steam my face once a week (over the bathroom basin filled with boiling water) so I would definitely enjoy using this little baby!
