Brush cleaning day, usually Sunday, is one of those chores that I huff and puff about having to do and a few months ago, I did a blog post on The Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette and the Makeup Revolution Pro Cleanse Brush Tool which you can find here.
Anyway, I have found a Makeup Revolution Brush cleaning dupe in Primark for £1.50 and they are so remarkably similar in how they look, how they feel infact looking at them, the only difference is that one is pink (Primark) and one is Purple (Makeup Revolution).
Designed to fit over your fingers, as you can see they have groves and knobbly bits to help clean your brushes. All you need to do is wet your brush, apply your brush shampoo and swipe the brush backwards and forwards along the grooves, as you do so, you can see all the makeup ‘stuff’ that has been lingering on the brushes run off into the sink and within seconds your brush is clean and ready to be left to dry. The Knobbly bits I use for my smaller brushes as I find it helps clean them much better.
So which one works better? The Makeup Revolution material is slightly softer and more pliable when washing the brushes, so instead of being rigid like the Primark one, there is some movement. Other than that, they are absolutely identical - same size, same number of grooves, same number of knobbly bits, same size part for your fingers to fit into. The only difference, other than the colour is that Primark charge £1.50 and Makeup Revolution £4.99.
Oh wow!! I was going to buy the make up revolution one this weekend!! I won't now, I'll wait until I go to Primark! Wow. They truly are identical aren't they?! I'm impressed Primark! Thanks so much for sharing this. xx
ReplyDeleteI have the brush egg which on some site retails between £5-£7 but I got one off eBay for 99p. Goes to show to shop around because the brush egg looks just like these too! xo
ReplyDeleteOh wow - they are so alike! I've not seen these before so thank you for the review. I'll be visiting Primark :)
ReplyDeleteCan't beeline how similar these are! Definitely good to shop around with these type of things.
ReplyDeleteI'm a snob and will stick to my Sigma sink mat (also too lazy to poke my fingers in this) but it looks ideal for travelling so may wander into Primark... xx
ReplyDeleteIt's alway good to shop around, thanks for a great review. I terribly don't even clean my brushes (I know) but then I don't really wear make up.
ReplyDeleteThat looks really good. Primark can be a bit of a treasure trove for beauty bargains. Funny how MUR can be a dupe for lots of luxe ranges, now they're being duped themselves!
ReplyDeleteDupes of Dupes of Dupes! I have seen a dupe of this on Aliexpress for about 60p! I love these for brush cleaning - makes a huge difference x
ReplyDeleteThat's a big difference in price! I admit I don't clean my brushes enough, but next time I'm in Primark I'll pick one of these up and give it a go.

ReplyDeleteGood grief, that is amazing isn't it? I couldn't tell the difference. I will definitely tell my daughter, thank you. Kaz x
ReplyDeleteThese look Good great that primark do a cheaper one too.
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel, oh wow that sound amazing. Damn it I was in Primark last week and i didn't see this. xx

They both look good. Think I will try the Makeup Revolution one. Prices are close anyway.
ReplyDeleteWow! They look so similar, proves stores are practically selling the exact same.
ReplyDeleteNice Inspirations

You know you've made it as a brand when other companies start duping you! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is very clever, I'm rubbish at looking after my make up brushes but it is very rare for me to have mak up on x
ReplyDeleteWow I'm gonna have to get this. I hate cleaning brushes lol. This is an amazing dupe. X
ReplyDeleteThe difference is mostly just the price, if I had makeup brushes to clean, I would have chosen primark one
ReplyDelete£1.50 is a bargain and even the colours are pretty similar I like how it wont break the bank!
ReplyDeleteI found one of these a little back on ebay. Looks exactly the same but its called the brushegg! They're probably the price of the Primark one or maybe even cheaper if you look on eBay! They're great though for eyeshadow brushes!

ReplyDeleteLooks convenient and really affordable to make most of the girls lives easier. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an intriguing invention! Sounds like a handy thing to have.
ReplyDeleteGoodness! That is a bargain if ever there was one. And they look pretty too.
ReplyDeleteThese look so similar, I need to give something like this a try x
