Little-Known Box is the UK’s newest luxurious beauty subscription box and you might have spotted them on your social media because they have, in my opinion, put a lot of effort into getting themselves noticed, no mean feat within a market that seems saturated with beauty boxes offering everything!
Little-Known Box is something a little bit different, every month you will receive a box of carefully selected luxurious beauty products and gifts featuring 'little-known' products, from independent, niche, upcoming and emerging brands. Chosen with ethics and wellness in mind. Having recognised that emerging and small luxury brands are really under-represented in beauty subscription boxes, Little-Known Box aim to fix this gap and use their beauty box to introduce you to some fantastic little-known brands, particularly those specialising in niche beauty fields including; natural/organic, vegan friendly, cruelty free and free-from brands.
Having caught my attention, I decided to sign up and see for myself what Little-Known Box was all about. Promising to include full and sample size luxury products from skincare, makeup, hair, body and grooming products to nail care, nail art, lifestyle and beauty accessories and with the occasional surprise thrown in! This is the first box:
Flint and Flint Moisturiser 3x (Full size 50ml rrp £42) - A rich repair cream that protects against glycation, boosts collagen and elastin production and regenerates the skin. Contains a powerful combination of active ingredients including Hyaluronic Acid, Retinol and Malikara Leaf to reverse the signs of premature ageing. Hydrates and nourishes the skin. Whilst the packaging is quite simple and understated, to me it does seem just a little bit masculine and isn't ordinarily something I would usually pick up.
The Vintage Cosmetics Company Eyelash Curlers - These are a limited edition rose gold pair of eyelash curlers and I am quite a fan of The Vintage Cosmetics Company for their cute and kitsch packaging. What makes these curlers slightly different is that they are spring loaded. These are obviously full sized and cost around £7.00.
Medusa Makeup Lipgloss - Described as being fun, vibrant and innovative, Medusa's makeup is made in the USA, Vegan and is Paraben free. I have shade Bite Me which is a fantastic vibrant red shade, whilst I won't be able to get any use out of it as I don't pull of red at all, a friend of mine will and it is perfect for her. Available in 12 different shades they retail at £6.25 (Full sized product $9).
Dirtea - I am a tad obsessed with tea and coffee bath products nd Dirtea is described as being the 'original self-love tea scrub'. Dirtea products are products are tediously tested and have unique recipes formulated to target acne, scarring, stretch marks, cellulite, psoriasis, eczema, and more. Our organic tea's are freshly ground into a fine powder and combined with specific high-grade essential oils, minerals, and vitamins to create a powerful blend that works wonders for your skin. They are not only Vegan but also Paraben, Gluten, Cruelty, Phosphate and Chemical Preservative-Free. (£2.15 per sachet)
Thumbs Up Nail Wraps - I have to admit, I am not into nail wraps at all and they are everywhere right now. This set has a metallic marble gold effect which will delight some people, personally, I prefer nail polish. Each pack contains 20 nail wraps and they are described as being easy to apply and waterproof. (£7.99 full sized product)
For a first box, I think this is pretty okay, I am not as wowed as I thought I would be, but I am not overly disappointed because there are some new brands for me to try out. A one off box costs £15.95 upon which there is a postage and packaging charge of £3.75. A monthly subscription to this box costs £14.95 and there are further subscription options available.
What do you think to Little-Known Box?
Oooh I bet it is lovely to receive a little box of beauty surprises each month! x
ReplyDeleteI really like the sound of the Flint + Flint moisturiser! I think that and the Dirtea scrub are the only products I'd really use, though :/

I really like the concept. There are so many boxes out there, so yes, coming up with something a little bit different is def the way to go. Personally I love ethical/organic brands - blogging has certainly opened my eyes up to the vast array that's out there. I think it quite an expensive box though once you add the p&p? Tx
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get on with eye lash curlers, as my eye lashes need some help. I just find them hard to use.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great box for the price x

I like the concept but there are so many beauty boxes out there it takes a lot to wow me! x
ReplyDeleteI love the look of those eyelash curlers! I really need to get some new ones, so might look out for them. x
ReplyDeleteThe cool thing is a box among boxes that is unique and has different products that haven't been heard a lot about. I love getting lippies from brands I have never heard of! Speaking of nail wraps I have to offload about 4 packages!
ReplyDeleteI've had a few beauty boxes but I'm wary to invest unless I know I can use or regift the contents (nail wraps aren't a favourite of mine either).
ReplyDeleteWhat a great box for trying out new things! I could really have done with eyelash curlers in my youth. I used to just push them back with my fingers after applying mascara LOL!
ReplyDeleteLovely things in the box, I love the idea of tea scrubs!
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice box to discover brands outside mainstream!
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that they are letting us try new items which are quite niche. I would love a beauty box but there are so many to chose from x
ReplyDeleteNever heard of this, reminds me of the lucky dips you got when I was wee with lots of surprise giftsx
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely box. I love all the contents especially the curlers.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit this isn't a box I have heard of before, but it definitely sounds really interesting.x
ReplyDeleteThey really sent you some great stuff. I love the color of that makeup lip gloss. Wow!
ReplyDeleteOOh I haven't seen or heard of this beauty box before, it certainly looks sleek! I must say that I dont think the contents are any different to other boxes out there, they all seem to be much of a muchness these days xxx
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a lovely little box, a bit on the pricey side for me though
ReplyDeleteThere are so many subscription boxes out there, but this one does seem to be standing out from the crowd.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great box and I like the sleek black box itself. Those eyelash curlers look like an instrument of torture though, lol! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I really like the look of this. It would make a really nice present too. x
ReplyDeleteWhoo I really like the look of this box.How exciting receiving a box through the post :) Red is my favourite colour too :)
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of the box getting the name of independent companies out there, especially those pushing the kinder products without parabens etc but personally prefer to buy products one at a time rather than invest in a mixed box.
ReplyDeleteLittle-known boxes look like they have better contents than some of the better known boxes out there! X
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of this company before but it seems like a good gift idea for a beauty lover or a teenage girl who is just beginning to start a beauty collection. The scrub looks and sounds nice - not sure I'd use the eyelash curlers or false nails though.
ReplyDeleteSuper review and really well written. Well done!
I've heard of quite a lot of subscription boxes but this definitely isn't one of them so now I'm intrigued! I actually really do quite like those nail wraps, I didn't think I would at first but after reading a bit more about them and seeing a close up photo, I actually quite like the design :)
ReplyDeleteIt kooks like there's some nice stuff in there. I've never tried nail wraps, don't really get the whole craze!xx
ReplyDeleteI hadn't heard of this beauty box before, there seems to be loads these days!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many subscription beauty boxes now! I love the look of the nail wraps x
ReplyDeleteOh I have seen this mentioned on Twitter quite a lot lately, so it's lovely to see what turned up in the box! I think it's a great way to find out about some new brands, particularly like the red lip gloss being paraben free and vegan. x
ReplyDeleteWhat a great box! I early like the lash curlers :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute box full of beauty needs. Perfect for gifts as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of this box before but must be exciting to get a surprise box through the door!
ReplyDeleteBeauty boxes really are a craze at the minute. One I haven't dipped my unmanicured toes into yet. This box sounds fab it's a shame the lip gloss wasn't your shade though. I wish I could get creative with some nail wraps! X
ReplyDeleteThe box looks great the only thing i would not be too keen on are the nail wraps.
ReplyDeleteI think it is quite expensive but I do like the sound of the tea scrub and like you am not keen on nail wraps either!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of this one. It's quite pricey but then I suppose the products make up for the price x
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of this box. I love that you can find some great lesser known brands. I wouldn't have been too thrilled with those contents though. The eyelash curlers and the lipgloss would be the only items I would use. But definitely interested to see what is in upcoming boxes!

It sounds like a subscription box with potential. I guess they aren't going to be to everyone's taste every time but I like the ethos
