Anyway it is now 2014 and here I am hoping Glossybox have got their act together before I log in and finally hit that cancel button... Here is the contents of my box:
So back to basics is the topic and subject of the box and Glossybox has had a bit of a make-over. The box is much pinker than usual and glossier and the ribbon on the inside is a nice touch... but the products this month... well:
Anatomicals Puffy The Eye Bag Slayer Wake-up Under Eye Patches - made me giggle as the name is funny and apparently if you look like a character from The Walking Dead these eye patches should reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and revitalise the delicate area around my eyes. A full size pack of 3 retails for £6 and in my pack there are two.
Vaseline Essential Moisture Lotion - a non-greasy moisture lotion to keep your skin supple and looking great. This is a 50ml bottle, nowhere near fullsize (which would cost £4.99) not too chuffed to have this in my box as I am not that much of a fan of Vaseline products personally.
Balance Me Super Toning Body Wash - another 50ml product and one I am happy to see because I am a huge fan of the Balance Me range and this is a product I am yet to try. Said to have a blend of juniper, bergamot, geranium and lavender essential oils, this body wash is a good way to start your day.
Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream - 2 sample tubes with 3g in each. This product is a multi-use cult moisturising cream from Japan which revamps your skin, enriching it with Vitamin E, Vitmain B2, Camphor and has a uniquely high glycerine content. Not heard of this before, but will see what it is like once I use it.
The final product, the one I knew would be in the box is this lovely floral design tweezers from The Vintage Cosmetic Company. You can never have too many pairs of tweezers and these ones are actually quite good and retail for £8 and I believe the only full sized product in the box!
So, erm that is it! What do you think?
I've not heard great things about this box lately. I was thinking of signing up but I'm not sure. The tweezers are really pretty though.

Doesn't look like the best box in the world! :/ xx

I can't say that this box would have blown me away! I love the tweezers though x

I don't think I like this box. they seem to be re-using lots of samples I've seen in previous boxes :( x
ReplyDeleteThis seems like a bit of a naff box - for a product that markets itself as luxury samples, I don't really think Vaseline counts!? The Anatomicals eye things sound pretty good, though, and Balance Me do have some lovely products.. I still think I'd be a bit miffed with this, though.

I've been following posts on these beauty boxes for a while now and haven't been impressed with any-they just come across as a box full of freebe samples thrown together. That Yu Be cream is sold in Space NK and is a bit like 8 Hour Cream but I have had a sample that size from Space NK of it! I don't really understand what these box makers are thinking to be honest

The Balance Me body wash looks good and the tweezers are cute but ... I think I would have been disappointed (again) with this box. What happened to the good old days when Glossybox included a lovely high(ish) end make-up product? xx
ReplyDeleteI have received exactly the same as you. The vaseline confused me, not exactly high end, the whole box left me feeling a little underwhelmed really :-(

I think I'd be a bit disappointed to receive this box to be honest. That Balance Me body wash is lovely though xx

The only thing I'd be excited by are the tweezers!

I cancelled my Glossybox a while back now. The boxes just didn't do it for me anymore and a lot of the brands kept repeating. I'd like to try the Anatomicals eye masks, but I don't think these or the Vaseline moisturiser count as luxury products. The Balance Me toner wash is lovely though, and Yu-Be is amazing. I'd be pleased I had received two of these!

Ohhh Yu-Be it's amazing hun. I use it on spots and under eyes - it's amazing under the eyes before you go to bed but I warn you it's h-o-r-r-i-d on the lips. Honestly, I don't think it's inspiring but the Yu-Be is awesome.

Lol at Puffy. But tbh, I wouldn't be very happy to only get that in my box. Doesn't seem worth it. Great review though :)

I seriously hope you've cancelled! HOW can they send contents like this?! Supposedly meant to be 'luxe samples' ?!? There is no way that the contents comes close to £13!! I'm so pleased I cancelled my subscription back in Autumn as all if the boxes since August have been pretty tragic!!! VASELINE moisturiser?! What the.....?! Xxx
ReplyDeletethe tweezers are cute but it's a disappointing box :( I unsubscribed ages ago and still not regretted it. x
ReplyDeleteI'd be quite happy with the tweezers as I've just had to throw one of my pairs away as they were blunt and the floral design is really pretty. But the rest of the box really is pretty basic isn't it! I do love balance Me products but the problem is I can't use anything with lavender in, so I wouldn't be able to use the body wash. I already have one tube of Yu.be that to be honest I don't use and Vaseline and Anatomicals are just a bit too simple and boring. I wouldn't have been happy with this one x
