Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition

Whilst September means the start of the new school year, for Glossybox, it means the start of the new 'Beauty' school year and this months box has been expertly curated to bring 6 products which are designed to help you prep and get organised.  Within this box, you will find products for the skin, some makeup, your hair, your lips and even your brows!

Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
The first item out of the box is the BeautyPro Detoxifying Bubbling Mask with Activated Charcoal. Now I love a good mask and right now, I am loving masks which bubble, they are so much fun and when life has been a bit stressful, you need a bit of fun.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition

Using activated charcoal, often described as being a miracle worker for blemish prone skin, alongside extracts of lime, lemon, apple, orange and grapefruit (this is how I get my 5 a day) this mask is a self-foaming sheet mask that rids skin of daily dirt, oil and impurities. It's not tested on animals and it is free from parabens, mineral oils, lanolin and petroleum and best of all it is just £4.95 and you can even find it in Sainsbury's!

The second item out of the box is the Your Facial Mini Scrubber. Coming all the way from the USA, this dual texture facial scrubber is made using soy and a natural cotton base layer which helps to create a really rich lather.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
Said to be perfect for sensitive skin, it has been dermatologically tested, is cruelty free and is perfect for travelling.  So it is coming with me to EuroDisney in 7 weeks time and it retails for £8.85!

Next comes an Eyebrow Cream from Bang Beauty. Admittedly this is not a brand I have heard of before and one of the reasons I love beauty boxes is for this reason.  We all know how popular the brows are and what a difference they can make to your makeup look and even your face.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
This Eyebrow Cream has a really creamy consistency and lightweight when using. It comes with its own angled brush for application and it would give some other HD Brow products a real run for their money.  I have the shade Milk Chocolate, which is a slightly too dark for my brows, but if I apply it lightly enough and use my spoolie, I can get it to work.  Priced at £16.80.

One item of makeup I never ever seem to purchase are Lip Liners and within this months Glossybox we have a Karl Lagerfeld Lip Liner in shade Rosewood.

Lining your lips is said to be essential for defining and prolonging the wear of your lipstick (oops) and this liner is made of a soft wax which gives a really creamy formula to work with. The shade, Rosewood will work with quite a few of my lipsticks, so I am keen to give it a try. Priced at £25.

Item number five from Glossybox comes from the Grow Gorgeous brand and it is a product I really like and am glad to have back in my stash and that is Scalp Detox. Scalp Dexotxing should be as much a part of your routine as using an exfoliator on the face.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
This little number uses natural Castor Oil Beads, White Willow Bark extract and Pomegranate Fruit Enzymes to gently exfoliate the scalp, providing a deep, intensive clean that eliminates clogging impurities, product build up, dry skin and dandruff to create the ideal environment for hair growth. I have combination hair which means oily roots and dry ends and having oily roots often means a dry scalp, so products such as this are amazing to use. A deluxe mini at 50ml and worth £7.37.

The final item in this months Glossybox is a packet of Be Fresh Antibacterial Wipes from Wet Ones and whilst I don't use them on my face to remove makeup, I do use them to remove swatches before washing my hands and arms and I do have some on my desk at work just in case.  Worth £1.19.
Glossybox - Back To 'Beauty' School Edition
I think this months box is fabulous, I actually like all of the contents and will use them. I have discovered some new products I didn't know I needed, have been reaquainted with some trusty favourites and GLOSSYBOX’S ‘Back To School' edition is available now and you can subscribe from just £10 a month (+P&P) or take advantage of a 12-month subscription, saving £18 at www.glossybox.co.uk.

Not forgetting at the end of this month, Glossybox have a collaboration with Sunday Riley which you can read more about HERE and if you love a Beauty Advent Calendar, guess what? Yes, Glossybox have one of those too and you can read all about that HERE.

Caudalie Vinopure Collection - Starter Kit

Whether you want products for hydration, anti-pollution, radiance-boosting or just to cleanse, tone and moisturise then Caudalie have a whole catalogue of products to choose from. New to the range comes Vinopure, described as being a natural, simple and effective solution for combination/oily skin and it helps to reduce blemishes, shine, refine pores and reveal a new glowing complexion.

Over the past few weeks, I have been using the Vinopure 3-Step Routine using this 15 Day Clear Skin starter kit and it has been such a great way of getting to know a brand new collection.

The set contains:

Purifying Toner (50ml) - Described as being an essential clarifier for combination skin it is my favourite of the three products so far. I love that it is weightless on the skin and is instantly refreshing but more importantly for me, it doesn't sting or leave my skin feeling dry and taut after using.
Infused with a blend of Salicylic Acid, Grape Polyphenols and organic essential oils work to draw out impurities from deep within pores.   What I have noticed the most since using this toner twice a day is the difference in the dryness of my skin.  I have combination/oily skin and as well as often having the mid-afternoon shine, I have really dry cheeks and do everything I can to ensure they are as hydrated as they possibly can be.  Using this toner has changed how dry my cheeks feel to the touch.

This toner can be used twice a day, after cleansing and you simply use a cotton pad and apply to the face, neck and décolleté.

Blemish Control Infusion Serum (10ml) - Described as being a concentrated purifying serum primarily designed for targeted treatment of blemishes.
Caudalie Vinopure Collection - Starter Kit
For me, a serum is always part of my skincare routine and has been since I had my skin scanned and it was pointed out to me that I had patches of dehydration. This Serum again natural Salicylic Acid, Grape-Seed Polyphenols, Rose Water and organic essential oils all of which come together and work to visibly diminish the look of blemishes, tighten pores and refine the skin’s texture. Again, this serum has a gel like consistency and on the skin, it is really lightweight and absorbs really quickly and is really refreshing.  Suitable for sensitive skin, the formula boasts antiseptic benefits to soothe any irritation and it can also be used as a targeted spot treatment.

To use, you apply morning and evening to the face, neck and décolleté and allow it to absorb before applying your cream.

Skin Perfecting Mattifying Fluid (15ml) - This is the final product of this trio and it is described as being a rich and velvety moisturiser which is ideal for oily and blemish-prone skin.
Caudalie Vinopure Collection - Starter Kit

This fluid is enriched with organic rosewater, grape polyphenols and organic essential oils all of which come together to help absorb excess sebum, reduce imperfections and refines the skin texture, to leave the complexion clear and fresh.  I love how nourishing this is, it is the one product of the three that I was unsure about when I started to use them, but having stuck with it and continued to use it as part of the 3-step skincare routine, what I love is how mattifying it is for my skin.  Again, having a mid-afternoon shine on the face can be soul destroying when you are in the middle of a working day and don't have time to grab your blotting paper or your powder to touch up.  Using a product like this in my skincare has made an improvement, I might be the only one to notice, but to me that is what is most important.

Like the rest of the products within this Starter Kit, the mattifying fluid is lightweight, it doesn't feel as though my skin cannot breathe and I love how refreshed my skin feels.

If you are looking to shake up your skincare routine and want something new to try, have blemishes, sometimes breakouts, combination/oily skin, blemishes and clogged pores, then I cannot recommend trying this enough.  I love that this starter kit is just £12.50 and if you are quick, LookFantastic have an offer to save 20% off which makes it just £10 by using the code 20Skin but you'll have to be quick!

Misslyn Chocolate Factory Collection

It wasn't too long ago that I featured some products from Misslyn here on the blog and today I am back with some brand new launches. Misslyn has been around for 30 years and is available from Beauty Bay. The new Chocolate Factory Collection is described as being an enticing, sweet colour theme, from milk to dark chocolate in the cutest chocolate bar design packaging.  So, two things I happen to adore in one - makeup and chocolate!

The first product from my cute little package is the Misslyn Chocolate Brow Duo Eyebrow Powder £8.75. Firstly, I love how teeny this product is and just how adorable the packagaing is.  Made from cardboard, this palette also contains a mirror which sits in the lid, an angled eyebrow brush and two brow powders.  Made to look like a chocolate bar, this product comes in a range of three shades and I have the Medium which is not as dark as I had been expecting and it works pretty okay with my brows.

Effortless to apply, the little angled brush which is included is actually quite easy to use.  Once I have applied the darker of the two powders, I blend out using a spoolie and am impressed with just how good my brows look.
The second product is the Misslyn Shades of Burgundy Eyeshadow Palette £11.30.  Perfume free, this palette features a collection of red and brown toned eyeshadow shades and they are all just perfect for Autumn.

I love how the shades sit within this palette starting with the lighter, almost white shade moving along the palette through the peaches and the reds until the browns, burgundy and dark grey come into being.   The lighter three shades are not as pigmented as the shades in the middle and towards the end of the palette, but for me, they are great base shades.

Again, this palette comes with its own brush and whilst I prefer to use my own eyeshadow brushes, I have used worst.  There is the smallest bit of fall out with the powders on this palette, but not as much as I was expecting and it is just incredible for those Autumnal looks. If you don't think this is the palette for you, then you will be pleased to hear that there are two other palettes within this range - 2 Shades of Rose which is a mix of creamy rose and purple hues or 4 Shades of Nude which features a collection of soft neutrals and browns.

Finally, I have the Misslyn Brow Chicka Wow Wow Eyebrown Pens £8.75. I am sure, like me, you are now saying Bow Chicka Wow Wow out loud as you read the description and what I love about the product name is just how much fun it is. A liquid eyebrow liner pen, they are available in three shades and I have shades Blonde and Ebony.

Featuring a felt tip like nib, it allows you to not only create precise, natural-looking brows, it is also really easy to use especially when creating hair-like strokes. I also love that it doesn't smudge, that I never need to sharpen and it is also easy to build up the intensity and it doesn't fade. In fact, once applied, I have my brows are done for the entire day and I have no need to top them up or re-apply.

I really love how much fun this brand is and you can find more products available right here. have you tried anything from Misslyn before?
