The Big Call

Can one phone call change your life forever?

In an effort to inspire small businesses to pick up the phone to an extra £26,000 a year, three of the UK’s top entrepreneurs – fragrance queen Jo Malone MBE, millionaire plumber Charlie Mullins and advertising legend Mark Denton – star in a new film about the single phone calls that changed each of their business lives.

Watch their inspirational stories and see why we’re encouraging startups and small businesses to make sure they are ready for their big call. Below is the video starring Jo Malone MBE.  Jo, who despite being severely dyslexic, built up her brand and its name from a kitchen table business to one of the world’s most famous fragrance empires in the world. At just 16 years old she discovered her gift for scent whilst working in a florist and was later awarded an MBE for her services to the beauty industry.

Jo talks about the call that kick-started her second fragrance business JO LOVES and brought her life full-circle back to the steps of the flower shop she first worked at as a teenager.

I found the video to be a fascinating insight into a small part of the world and life that is Jo Malone.

Have you tried Amazon Prime Instant Video yet?

I have just got into the whole Youtube video thing, don’t get excited, I am not about to start vlogging, that is not for me, but I do love to watch other people and can happily spend a good few hours entertaining myself.

Youtube obviously isn’t just for bloggers of course; you can of course relive your youth with some music, watch clips of TV shows and this video:

Yes, I managed to find some really cute kids aged 4-12 years old being TV critics.  They give their expert opinion on the Amazon Original Kid’s Pilots and what I love about it is the innocent honestly in their opinions and whilst watching it, I did find myself laughing along and agreeing with some of the things they had to say.

Amazon Studios is the new way to commission films and television series, it doesn’t just let us viewers decide what they watch; it lets them or you, have your say on what shows Amazon makes. TV fans can then watch, rate and review the latest Amazon Original pilots, some of which include drama, comedy and of course kids shows.

I am an Amazon Prime Customer and when I heard about the Instant Prime Video I logged in immediately to have a look and I am really enjoying the service right now.  For me it is quite a new and modern concept and as a blogger and someone who has an opinion on everything, the fact that I can now, as a Prime Member watch, rate and review the latest pilots is a brilliant concept!

If you want to watch, rate and review those latest pilots all you need to do is click amazon.co.uk/primevideo and have your say on the future of TV!

Candles Candles Candles

I burn candles nearly every day and there is nothing I love more than coming home from work as the evening draws in, closing the curtains and lightening a few candles to create that much wanted relaxing atmosphere. I don't just have candles in the lounge, I also have a few in the bedroom and whenever I have a nice long relaxing bath, there are a few placed around the bath to again create that atmosphere.

A few weeks ago, I was kindly sent these wonderful products from the Scented Candle Shop* and in my box which you can see below is:

I have always wanted a plate and shade for one of my candles and it has been one of those items that I have never got around to getting, so I was so chuffed to see something so beautiful inside my box. As soon as I attached it to my lit candle, it really came to life as you can see in the photos below:
