Kiss Falscara - The New Way To Lash

I was really lucky to attend a live masterclass event with celebrity makeup artists Lisa Laudat and Kiss Lashes to learn all about the new Falscara Lashes.

Described as being the 'New Way To Lash' if you are a fan of false lashes then you will absolutely love these offerings.  Kiss Falscara Lashes includes wisps which have a unique microband and featherlight fibres which you place under your natural lashes rather than above them!

I am slightly picky about false lashes, I have used a particular brand for years because I can apply them without thinking about it, they don't require glues and faffing about, so I was a little apprehensive to try something new.  However, it is 2020 and this year hasn't been quite like any we had imagined, so on a few occasions I have moved out of my comfort zone and just tried something new - this is one of those occasions!

As you can see, the Wisps are individual sections of lashes which give you the option to decide how many you want to apply if you choose not to use them all and they come in three designs:
  • Lengthening which give a very soft and subtle length
  • Volumizing which give that fluttery voluminous look
  • Lifting which give that flirty bounce and flare
I was really shocked at how easy these lashes are to apply, years of not moving out of my comfort zone assumed I would find them too fiddly, but it is quite the reverse.  As shown above, the lashes come with a Bond and Seal tube plus a patent pending applicator to help make the application much more straightforward.

The Applicator has a uniquely designed angled tip which makes grasping and applying the lashes really easy and whether you are right handed or left handed (in my case I can use both) the tool is just as easy to use.

The Bond and Seal was the item which intrigued me the most. I am not a fan of Lash Glue at all and usually always opt for pre-glued lashes. With the Bond it is described as having a non-damaging formula which primes the lashes ready for the Wisps.  It is also infused with Biotin to help promote Lash growth.  The Seal, which is formulated with Vitamin E, helps to remove any tacky residue whilst at the same time keeping the Wisps in place all day.

Once your lashes are fixed in place, for me, the removal is the bit I always look forward to the least, I am always terrified I might pull out some of my natural lashes, hence my aversion to lash glue!  With Falscara, they have cleverly included a Remover within the collection and it makes the task in hand so straightforward to complete.

The Remover, which is infused with soothing rosewater works to provide a gentle and easy way to remove the lashes as well as the Bond and Seal and for me, this is where it differs from other products I have used to remove my lashes.  All you need to do is saturate a cotton pad and hold it over the eye for around 10 seconds and the lashes literally come away from your eyes.

There is a lot of helpful hints on how best to apply these lashes and a really helpful video which I watched after the Zoom event to ensure I had got a good understanding on ensuring I got the application just right.

Prices for these lashes start at £8.99 and for the complete kit which includes lashes and the Bond and Seal as well as the Applicator costs £24.99 and all available via Superdrug.

Eylure X Emma Willis

If you are a fan of false lashes but you want false lashes which are less faff and more wow, then you will probably love the collaboration between Eylure and Emma Willis. If you have never heard of Emma Willis, she is a TV Presenter who is currently presenting The Voice and is also famed for presenting Big Brother and being married to Matt Willis from the band Busted.

Working with Eylure, Emma has created a range of natural, stress-free lashes that are easy to apply - perfect for mothers on the go much like herself and to add that cute factor the lashes have been named after her three children.

The first set of lashes are called Trix-a-Lashious and they are described as being a subtle flared lash with a gorgeous kick; this pair of wild & wispy corner & accent lashes will elongate the eye and add lashings of fullness.

Next is All The Aces and these are a full & feathery set of gorgeous accent and corner lashes that will give you dreamy fullness worn alone or double the definition when layered together.

The final set of lashes in this beautiful threesome are called Insta-belle and they are a really cute set of light, fluttery accent & corner lashes that can be worn alone or layered-up for extra volume.

When I wear lashes, which is only on special occasions, I want something that isn't going to take a member of Mensa to figure out how to apply them and nor do I want to be sat worrying I've glued my eyes shut or that an hour into my night out there is suddenly an eyelash on my cheek.  Even though these Eylure lashes come with an adhesive, ive found it to be quite effective and having been to a few blog events in the last week, the lashes have stayed in place the entire time, have been easy to remove and are in good enough condition that I would wear them again.

Priced at £6.95 each you can find the Eylure x Emma Willis lashes in Boots.
