How to look the part when going to the casino

How to look the part when going to the casino

Going to a casino shouldn’t just be a field trip. It should be an event. There used to be a time when going to the casino was treated as an excuse to wear your most expensive everything and stay out until the next morning. Well, it can still be like that. Dressing up to go to the casino is great fun and it makes the experience so much more interesting. With the right outfit and an active imagination, you could step into your favourite Las Vegas films. So, here are some ideas for dressing the part:

The Poker Champ
There are a lot of excellent female poker players in the professional scene. Of course, all of them have unique personalities and styles, but you notice a couple of common traits here and there when you watch the competitions. Some of the richest female poker players, for example, all bring similar accessories with them when they compete that help them play better and stay focused. So, if you want to emulate the look of a poker champion you’re going to need some designer sunglasses, a hoodie or badge with your sponsor’s logo on it (preferably a poker website) and some shimmery nail polish and rings to distract the other people at the table. If they’re looking at your hands then they won’t notice if you let your poker face slip. For some added realism, bring your ipod to listen to at the tables. You’ll often see poker players with their earphones in while they play because background noise distracts them from the game. Also, if you’re going to rock the casino as a poker champ it might help if you actually know how to play poker first, so make sure you read Ladbrokes’s poker strategy guide before you start putting your look together. There’s no better accessory for a poker champ look than some killer poker skills.

Going traditional
Traditional casino fashion was all about sophistication, glamour and class and although casinos these days allow more casual attire, that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t take advantage of the opportunity to get your glam on. You’re going to need a dress that’s tight, glittery, possibly transparent, and for a more classic look it should reach the floor. Once you’ve got the dress then move onto the accessories, which should look just as expensive as your dress, if not even more expensive. Diamonds and pearls are always welcome at a casino and if you manage to match them with some long gloves and a fur coat then you have nailed the casino fashion.
Casino Night Out
The Bond girl
‘The Bond girl’ is the hardest look to recreate because it’s about more than just the clothes. The Bond girl get up is all about attitude. You need to look like you’re hiding a pistol in your garter belt. You’ve got to look dangerous, but in a subtle way. Like the traditional casino fashion, a long sexy dress is the traditional attire with the difference being that you have to dial the sexy up to ‘11’. You should introduce yourself as having an exotic name like ‘Ivanna Kizzyuu’ and wear sharp, dark eyeliner. You get bonus points if you drink straight vodka and know how to fly a helicopter.

I got married in Las Vegas so have been to my fair share of Casinos, some you dress up and some are a bit more relaxed. Have you ever been to a Casino?

  1. I've been to Vegas and walked along the Strip but I was too young to go into the Casinos, haha! I would love to get dressed up and go though.

  3. Ah this brings back memories of my trip to Vegas a couple of years ago - it was great. I've also been to a casino which was great - I like playing Black Jack - I wouldn't mind playing Black Jack in a dress like that...just gotta get the figure to match!

  4. This is amazing! I never considered this. Though, we have casinos in town which are very casual, but the big ones, I guess you do need to look the part :)
