{Guestpost} The Naily Mail

Hi everyone, I'm Lauren, a UK nail art blogger from Lancashire. My blog, The Naily Mail, is mostly about nails, however I have recently begun dabbling in other beauty products too, such as Barry M's Stain Paints, Cor Balmy!, and Nailtiques' Formula 2 Kit . I'm really excited to be guest posting here on Beauty Queen UK - I'd like to thank Rachel for this opportunity! I hope you all find my post both helpful and enjoyable :) Friends & Family Favourites. As a nail blogger I try my best to keep up to date with all the latest releases, to the detriment of my bank account and overflowing Helmer drawers

I particularly love spring and summer releases as this means pastels, neons, and brights! I do admit it's sometimes hard to keep up sometimes, especially recently. Over the past few months there seems to have been new nail releases coming from here, there, and everywhere! So I've decided to round up a few of my favourite polishes for summer, hopefully making your search for your favourite summer nail polish shades that little bit easier!

Narrowing it down to a  select few was insanely difficult, the least I could get down to was sixteen, which I thought was far too many. As I began to struggle short-listing the thought came to me that I should take into account the opinions of people too, other than just my own. I decided to enlist the help of some friend and family. I asked them to pick five from my 'short' list of sixteen nail varnishes that they would most like to wear during summer. This was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be as more or less everyone went for the same few shades! I only allowed them to see swatches of the varnishes, and not their names or brands. Despite having quite a few different brands in the selection the ones they picked were from just two brands (my favourite two brands actually!); Models Own and Barry M! In the end I settled with seven polishes that I am calling the Friends & Family Favourites. And here they are, the 7 summer polishes myself, and my friends and family think you will love this summer... Models Own - Beach Bag

Beach Bag is easily the shade I've worn most so far this summer, and every time someone's said how nice it is, which only encourages me to wear it even more! Coral shades are always popular during summer, plus, with this one being neon it is fantastically bright and vibrant! Beach Bag is from Models Own Polish For Tans collection which are designed to compliment and enhance your tan (whether real or fake!).

Although this is from the Spring collection, pastel shades are still perfect for summer. Sugar Apple is from Barry M's Gelly range, which I'm sure you've all heard of or tried, and if you haven't then you certainly are missing out - fantastic formulas, vibrant colours, and a smooth, glossy finish to top it off. £3.99 from Superdrug, Boots, BarryM.com Models Own - Sun Hat

Very bright and very girly, what more do you need?! £5 from Superdrug, Boots, ModelsOwnIt.com Models Own - Lemon Meringue

Yellow isn't usually my thing - and I'm not its biggest fan - so I wasn't sure if was going to like this polish at initially, but I really love this shade. It's not too bright, not too in your face - it's subtle, delicate, and it just works. £5 from Superdrug, Boots, ModelsOwnIt.com Barry M - Malibu

Barry M - Malibu
Of Barry M's new Summer Matte collection, Malibu is my favourite. The matte finish makes a nice change to the usual glossy finishes, and just look at the colour, stunning! £3.99 from Superdrug, Boots, BarryM.com Models Own - Bikini

I have to admit , I was a little skeptical about the colour in the bottle at first, but as soon I'd lacquered my nails with it, I loved it. Yes, it is another one from the Polish For Tans collection (clearly they are must-haves for summer, and you need to pick some of them up, like, right now!). Bikini is so bright and eye-catching, and would be perfect for festivals.

£5 from Superdrug, Boots, ModelsOwnIt.com Tip: Wearing a white base underneath neons really helps to take the colour to a whole new world of vibrancy, and as an added bonus, you will prevent your nails from becoming stained. I really hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it, and that it has made your search for your perfect summer nail polish a much simpler task!
