Just say YES to Carrots!

At this time of the year when the weather is really cold my hands have become a bit dry and my nails are not really looking their best to be honest and being too embarrassed to go to the manicurist with them in this state, I have opted to have a go improving their condition slightly at home.
Just say YES to Carrots!
The product as you see it online
The Yes to carrots range is a product range that I really like. One of the best things about the brand, other than its rather odd name, is that their whole idea behind their products is to combine the goodness of fresh organic fruit and vegetables along with minerals from the dead sea, so it isn't just carrots that they include within their product.

One of my favourite products is called The Yes to Carrots Feel the C pampering hand and nail spa and it comes packaged in a tub containing 250ml which is for me a normal sized tub of any product and it retails around the £12 . Once the screw on and off lid has been removed inside you will find a rather runny looking cream which is a light orange colour but before you can get to the contents you first have to remove this rather irritating piece of plastic which stretches right over the top of the pot and is an utter nightmare to remove. However, once it has been removed and you have full access to the contents you will see how runny it really is and within the oily looking cream are globules of rough sea salt but the smell is absolutely fantastic, it smells clean and very much of the Jojoba Oil and of carrots.

Just say YES to Carrots!
Inside the tub
The ingredients within this product which make it smell so amazing is quite long but there are some worth mentioning:
  • Carrot is obviously the main ingredient in all of the products and the reason for that is that it is very rich in vitamin A which means that for the skin it helps to keep it soft and smooth whilst helping with anti-aging.
  • Dead Sea Salts work as a natural exfoliating agent which works really well removing dead skin cells from your body with little effort and I am a big fan of a lot of products which come from the Dead Sea because again they don't irritate my skin, Dead Sea salts and mud have so many good aspects about them it is hard to know where to start but they do help Improve skin metabolism and encourage skin cell growth, Unclog pores, exfoliate dead skin cells and Soften and revitalise the skin.
  • within this hand and Nail Spa you will find Almond Oil, Avocado Oil, Pumpkin Juice and Jojoba oils all of which are great moisturisers and help dehydrated and undernourished skin.
  • Pomegranate Juice and sweet potato are the final two ingredients which are also both rich in vitamins A, C and E and is also a powerful anti-oxidant which protects the skin cells from damage.
There is a full list of the product's ingredients on the website and upon the product itself for further information.

When it comes to using this product it can be quite messy so ensure you have a towel or some sort of covering on the surface in which you intend to use it. Then after washing your hands to remove any surface dirt which may lay on them pat them dry. Then using a teaspoon, stir the contents really well for about one minute to ensure the dead sea salt is mixed in with the oily cream and then once that is complete, using the same spoon, place one full teaspoon of the product into the palm of your hand and gently massage the cream onto and into the whole of your hand paying particular attention to the driest skin areas. As you are massaging your hands, you will feel the dead sea salt which is very rough in texture, so remember not to rub too hard because you could end up with sore hands.

I found it was much easier to concentrate on one hand rather than doing both at the same time and before washing the left over residue off my hands, I did rub them together, mimicking the actions of washing my hands with some soap to give them one final scrub before placing my hands in a bowl of warm water. Once your hands are in the water the cream is easily removed. Then you simply pat your hands dry.

As with the last product I used from this range, I was really impressed with how soft and smooth my skin had become particularly around the knuckles and the palms of my hands and the fragrant smell was also still very evident upon my skin and it stayed fragrant for a good few hours after using it.

This product can also be used for giving yourself a home manicure especially if your cuticles are in need of some work doing to them, you simply use the oily cream around the nail bed and on the cuticle and then lightly push those cuticles back using the normal routine that you would usually follow and you will find that it works just as well, if not better than thw curticle cream that you would normally use. What you should find after doing this is soft smooth fingers and neat cuticles.

If say that I was immediately impressed with it after patting my face dry and touching my cheeks I could feel an instant difference, there was no sign of any dry skin whatsoever and my skin did feel very soft and smooth and I could still smell the almond oil which has a lovely aroma too it. Since using it I haven't suffered any allergic reaction and it hasn't made my skin flare up at all, instead what I find is that after I have used it I am left with soft smooth skin and that I only need to use this product once every week and sometimes once every two weeks.

Overall I was really impressed with this product, it is something I will definitely keep in my cupboard or on my shelf for emergencies should I run out of my favourite products because it is definitely a good back-up product to use my favourite thing about it other than the smell is that it only takes up 5-10 minutes of your time which is no time at all for soft, smooth healthy looking skin and at the price it sells for it is a real bargain. I would guess that the tub I have got will last me around 3-4 months if I used it on a weekly basis, so you do get your monies worth and I do recommend it.

  11. Hi Rachel,

Great review, very thorough, I have heard really good things about this range and, like you, really like the idea behind it with the natural ingredients. I think I'll have to give it a go when it gets colder here and the dry skin hits...
